    The average cost for a diamond ring in the US is between $5000 and $6000 for natural diamonds. Generally, one can expect to spend upwards of $3000. Lab-grown diamonds can cost approximately 50% less than a natural one. The price does depend on the grade of the stone as well as the design. Carat weight in particular can change the price, especially in terms of “landmark sizes” such as 1 ct. For example, a 1 ct diamond will cost as much as 20% more than a 0.95 ct diamond, even though the two stones may not be so visibly different in size. Factors such as whether it is in a solitaire setting or done in a pavé or halo setting (which would mean additional diamonds or gemstones) would also need to be considered.
