How big does the stone look?

Two things make this ring wear larger than its carat weight. The halo of small diamonds rings the ruby and reads as one bigger outline, often adding the appearance of half a carat or more. We use natural rubies by default and disclose any standard heat treatment, which is normal for the stone. A lab grown ruby is available if you want more size for the budget with identical color and hardness.

How tough is a ruby for daily wear?

Very. At 9 on the hardness scale it is one of the most wearable colored stones, well suited to an engagement ring you wear all the time. A yearly prong check on the halo is the only routine care it needs.

Can I get this with a different stone in the center?

Will the halo make resizing harder?
