Most of the world’s pink diamonds come from Australia’s Argyle mine, and even then, out of all diamonds mined there, less than 1% of them are pink. It is estimated that the output of these diamonds is so low that sellable pink diamonds only account for less than 0.01% of diamonds on the market. This rarity contributes to their high price, 1-carat of a pink diamond can cost upwards of $100,000.
